Today may be the first day of autumn, but in most areas, children have already been back to school for the better part of a month now—signaling the unofficial start of a new season, in more ways than one. And I’m not just talking about the return of cold weather and falling leaves... I’m talking about the resurgence of colds and the flu, too.
If you’ve got kids, grandkids, or work and spend time with children on a daily basis, then you already know what this time of year means. The fact is, children contract an average of three to eight colds per year—and they’re also two to three times more likely to get sick with the flu. Usually, your kids will bring these bugs home with them from school, having picked them up from their sick classmates.
And that, in turn, leaves you at higher risk, too.
